Kitchens and Bathrooms

As is often said, the heart of the home is where the kitchen is. Kitchen design is Simone’s favourite aspects of interiors as it can be the most challenging area in the house to design aesthetically and yet retain functionality.

Simone has won design awards such as the 2015 NKBA Best use of colour in a kitchen national award for her Magnolia Kitchen design, 2012 NKBA Best Regional Kitchen for the Cherryblossom kitchen, Finalist in the International awards programme for the Society of British Interior Designers, Best Design awards and Houzz.com Best Design for her Aotea Tree kitchen. A most prestigious award to win was the Best Design awards for Cherryblossom Kitchen.

She designs and renders all of her kitchen designs in a 3D CAD modelling program (we even put models of people into our renderings!) or by hand sketches so that her clients can view the proportions and scale of the kitchen and can therefore be confident that they will be happy with the end result. Simone is National Kitchen and Bathroom Association trained and holds appropriate design qualifications so she is fully up to date with not just current kitchen design styles/historical styles but also kitchen design current building code regulations.  Encompass Ideas holds a full range of colour sampling, granite benchtop materials, hardware catalogues etc.

Your ideas and wants and needs are fully included as part of the brief for your new kitchen – Simone endeavours to translate a client’s ideas and inspiration into something purely unique to each client’s kitchen – a recent project (photos to come) was inspired by 1920’s New York deli style shops hence, it contains a chef’s table with industrial styled cabinetry and reeded glass doors.

The Cherryblossom kitchen used the client’s holiday snapshot enlarged and printed onto steel doors (this was a new and innovative way of printing onto a non-scratch surface) the colours of the image were replicated into the general colour scheme of the kitchen. This kitchen won 3 awards locally and internationally.

The Damask kitchen is redolent of a piece of furniture with its dark oak veneer cabinetry framing white joinery. Imported Italian Damask 3D tiles were fitted to the island that is supported on a timber leg system again looking like a standalone piece of furniture. Hidden storage behind sliding panels is located on either side of the splashback and throughout the kitchen LED lighting is extensively used.

The Magnolia Kitchen is an award winning stunning graphic result of a collaboration between the clients, Simone, Encompass Ideas and Michael Angove (Graphic designer, UK) and showcases again another innovative approach to bringing the client’s love of the botanical imagery (complete with hidden insects and birds that appear to be 3D) into the kitchen space. The fridges, rangehood and storage items are discreetly hidden away. The Aotea kitchen with its 3D tree patterned doors and front to the island is a good example of what can be achieved with a restricted budget that was applied as part of a new house build. This kitchen generated a lot of positive comments and won two Houzz.com awards for its design. The Boathouse kitchen resplendent in its almost black colouring and aluminium glazed doors gives a feel of luxurious masculinity. The benchtop of Antique brown and black gives texture and depth whilst a library ladder provides access to high level storage cabinets. At the rear of the kitchen is a home office complete with an unimpeded view to the harbour – can you picture yourself working in this type of environment? The client is proud to note that this kitchen has been published locally and internationally to wide acclaim.

“Our original kitchen was an absolute shambles until Simone came along with her expertise. Simone has done an excellent job of designing our gallery kitchen and everything works perfectly well and all the appliances/kitchen units work in conjunction with each other as well as keeping within our budget. The colour scheme and the kitchen layout is excellent and we are more than happy with it and highly recommend her for any future design work.” B And A Paroli
